Memories of a Dying Mall is a 5-minute experimental short exploring my personal relationship and memories of a dying mall, Eau Claire Market.
Using a blend of different styles and animation techniques, this film should take you on a journey of my subconsciousness, exploring memories of a time, a place, and things that don’t exist anymore.
The ultimate goal of this piece is for viewers to examine their own relationships with memory, time, and physical places. Also, I’d like viewers to not live in the wound of nostalgia, but to feel hopeful that we can transform our feelings and memories into new things for the future.
This film is expected to be completed in fall 2027.
It is currently in production.
